Shifting the focus of the image changed the perspective of the object in the image. It did not really change the meaning of the photo because the objects are too simple. It might change the view of how others look at the image because of how the objects are displayed.
I think that both of these photos are pretty good. Though the subject material is uninteresting, it is still shot well. Personally, I think the background seems too busy and takes away from the piece.
